Sometimes I feel as though my life has been swallowed up by dark storms. Troubles and overwhelming responsibilities press so close around me that they seem to block the sun, and I stumble in the dark, not certain if I am going anywhere at all or only traveling in circles.
But if I lift my head and look, I find that Christ's light burns before me, high and lifted up, its radiance as bright as ever. No regrets over the past, no worries for today, no fears about the future can ever dim that light. All I have to do is look at Him--and He will guide me out of the storms, into safe harbor of His love.
The Lord is my Shepherd
Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
